He spent most of his life in the Northern part of Kolkata, Shovabazar, which is famous for its colonial buildings and heritage of the neo- Babus of this Palace City. After doing his schooling from Hindu School and Shyambazar A.V. School he did his graduation from Jaipuria College. Due to his uncontrollable mischievous nature his parents decided to put him to Drawing classes and swimming.

He regularly used to visit the local libraries which introduced him to the world of story books. A new horizon opened in front him. The world of stories opened his imaginations which gave impetus to paintings and sketches. He spent a good amount of time in antique studies in Indian Museum, Kolkata.

After starting his career in web-designing his interest in pencil sketches was transformed into photography. His love for his old house, people around him, the stories he read about forests, mountains and human relations all reflect in the photographs he captures.

Heritage Photography

History has always been of great interest to him. The love amplified when he married his childhood friend, Dr. Samhita Sen, who happens to be a doctorate in the history of Nawabi architecture of Murshidabad. His photographs contributed to a great extent in the Ph.D thesis of Samhita entitled, ‘The Islamic Architecture of Nawabi Period Murshidabad (1704-1881 AD)’.

In a book named History of Bangladesh (medieval Period) his photographs have been published as part of the article on Urbanisation of Murshidabad authored by Dr. Sen. The couple has roamed in the nook and corner of Lucknow, Hyderabad, Murshidabad and Delhi to document the built heritage of India and its great cultural ethos.
