The life cycle on earth is a tiny version of the Universe. The perfect orchestration of the symphony of life is one of the Creator’s greatest and most beautiful miracle. The Sun is the source of life on Earth and the prime source of energy. Interestingly the number “seven” is important in both nature and human life. There are seven oceans on earth, seven colours which create a VIBGYOR, seven ages which complete the span of a human life and in Hindu mythology the chariot of Sun is led by seven horses.

The seven ages of man is a theme which reflects the gradual movement of energy from child to the end of man’s life and attaining enlightenment. During this span a man takes birth alone, makes friends, family, have children and eventually return to the Universe all alone leaving behind whatever material achievements he could have gathered.

This transfer of energy from Universe to a human life and back to Universe has inspired my theme. As the Sun is the major source of life and his horses symbolise the energy; hence, my photographs are named after the
seven horses of Sun namely, Gayatri(Infant), Brihati(Childhood), Ushnih(Adolescence), Jagati(Youth), Trishtubha(Fatherhood), Anushtubha(Senectitude) and Pankti(Enlightenment).
